We've been making our Apple Cinnamon wine for almost twenty years now, and for some folks, fall isn't fall without it. This year we decided to introduce another apple wine using locally-sourced apple cider from Lancaster, but with different flavors: Apple Caramel. Remember caramel apples as a kid?
To be honest, I was more into the caramel part back then, but now I understand the need for a little bit of balance. The fresh acidity in the apples helps clean caramel flavor and makes it less cloying and more soothing. This is comfort wine. especially when served warm. If you warm it on your stove, your house will smell great..but we recommend putting it in a mug in the microwave for a minute.
