A field blend of 8 different French clones. Barrel-fermented cool in French oak barrels, then aged for ten months on the lees (yeast) and stirred weekly to soften the wine.
The 2016 vintage displays the traditional Allegro profile that makes it seem more like "Allegro" than "Chardonnay." 2016 was a moderate vintage, yielding a subtle and restrained wine. Delicate aromatics of apricot and lemon with hints of toast. Smooth and medium-bodied with a nice acid structure means that this is a wine that is built for ageability. Over time this wine will slowly open up to reveal nuanced complexities that will captivate for the next 6-8 years.
